Today, we can see that more and more people are picking herbal products as their choice of beauty products. People are even willing to shell out huge amount to buy beauty products that are purely natural. Everywhere the market and even the Internet are flooded with ‘natural’ skin care and hair care products. However, there is no guarantee that all these products that are available on market and online for sale are authentic. Many times users are robbed of their precious money.

Users or buyers need to be careful while buying these so called all natural products. To avoid being taken for a ride, users must check the label given on the shampoo packaging and read it carefully and thoroughly. Moreover, if you are planning to buy all natural products over Internet, it is advisable to read all the details available online. You can easily identify the genuine products from the dubious ones as the former would mention all the ingredients over the packaging and its website proudly. However, if any of the shampoos which are promoted as an herbal shampoo but contains any or more of following chemicals should be rejected right away:

- propylene glycol or glycol– a cheap petrochemical.
- cetearyl alcohol – emulsifier that can be synthetic or natural.
- methylparaben or propylparaben – typical synthetic preservatives.
- distearate – this is polyethylene glycol or polypropylene glycol which are petrochemicals.
- isopropyl alcohol – used as a cheap solvent to carry synthetic oils.
